The History

of

Como Montessori School, housed in the historical Como Junior-Senior High School, opened its doors in 1986.

Originally, it was planned as a public Montessori elementary magnet school. However, CMS added seventh and eighth grade in 1989.

Como Montessori has been a pioneering public Montessori school in Fort Worth ISD. CMS is a progressive school and is well established as a community landmark in the historic Como neighborhood.
