The Highlanders Salute...

Congratulations to the Lady Highlander Track Team for 2nd Place in Regionals and earning a trip to State.

Students, faculty and staff for a great testing week.  Way to go!!

The Boys Track Team for their 9th consecutive District Win.

The Girls Tracak Team for their District win.

Congratulations to Lygia Foreman on receiving a track scholarship.

Contratulations to Daylon Guy on receiving a basketball scholarship.

Freshman Jose Gutierrez medalled October 24, at the Ricky Cox Cross-Country Invitational hosted by O. D. Wyatt. 

The Highlander Football team for winning the Homecoming Game against the North Side Steers 28-6.

Homecoming Duchess and Duke were 9th grade Justine Gonzalez and Jorge Barraza, 10th grade Kimberly Escobedo and Michael Morgan, 11th grade LaRoyal Phillips and Roscoe Lee

Homecoming Queen candidates were Amanda Budhia, Latrice Ross, Alecia Allen, and Lygia Foreman. Candidates for King were Sam Blackmore, Johnathan Kelly, Sedrick Steve, and Davaun Gray.

Homecoming Queen and King were Latrice Ross and Jonathan Kelly.

Freshman bassist Keaton Brewer auditioned for regional orchestra on October 17, 2009. This was his first time to audition and he placed as second alternate. He will be participating in the Orchestra Festival that will be held in January 2010.

Senior Chris Vuelvas for passing 3 AP exams in European History, World History and American History.

Senior Courtney Roberts for passing 3 AP exams in English, World History and American History

  
     
Highlander students that advanced to the second round of the Regional Vocal Auditions are Aaron Casey, Ro-Michael  Woodard, Courtney White and Jasmine Sharp. They have all been named as members of the Honor Choir.
