SUMMARY: Students, faculty and staff of Fort Worth ISD’s South Hills High School will present a check to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation on Thursday, October 29, 2009, during a 3:00 p.m. assembly.
“Our students have been selling ribbons and ‘Scorpion Think Pink Shirts’ to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” said Principal Nancy Weisskopf. “Our goal has been to raise $1000 and we are above $800 with still two days to go.”
The effort started during the South Hills pep rally last Friday where football players and cheerleaders alike wore pink clothing and ribbons. The campaign has continued through this week with everyone focused on meeting the campus goal.
“I’m just very proud of the kids,” said Ms. Weisskopf. “It is impressive to see so many students and staff members committed to being a part of the cure! THINK PINK!”
UPDATE: School reached $1,000 goal and is still accepting donations.
