Principal - Yassmin Lee
Mrs. Lee is the new principal of Southwest High School for the 2009-2010 school year. Her educational degrees include a BA in English and Spanish and M.Ed. in Reading and Bilingual Education. Her Post-Baccalaureate work includes Business Administration, Human Resources and School Administration. She is currently “all but dissertation” in her Ph.D. in Reading and School Administration. Mrs. Lee’s first career was in Human Resources, Marketing, and Internal Audit. Education is a second career which started in 1995 with the Fort Worth Independent School District. Her educator experience includes 3 years of teaching at Manual Jara Elementary, 2 years as a Human Resources Coordinator, 1 year as Assistant Principal at DeZavala Elementary and 2 years as Assistant Principal at Versia Williams Elementary. She was Principal at Alice D. Contreras Elementary for 3 years and Rosemont Middle School for 3 years. Mrs. Lee is married and has been blessed to grow her family through her two step-children, nephew and two grandchildren.

Assistant Principal - Willie Cormier (Di-La)
Mr. Cormier has been an assistant principal at Southwest for the last 8 years. His educational background includes an AAS from McLennan Community College in Waco, TX; a BBA from Baylor University, and an ME from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently working on his EDD degree at Tarleton State University. Besides his 10 years in education, during which time he also taught at OD Wyatt High school, Mr. Cormier has 20 years worth of retail experience. His wife and 2 sons are educators as well. His wife is currently an assistant principal at Arlington Heights High School, and his sons teach at Forest Oak Middle School and in the Austin Independent School District. |

Assistant Principal - Jack Henson (Rog-Z)
During his thirteen years as an educator Mr. Henson has worked for Amarillo ISD and Fort Worth ISD, serving the last three years as Assistant Principal here at Southwest High School. While a teacher and orchestra director in Fort Worth, he also worked as a curriculum writer for Fort Worth ISD. He received both his Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Mr. Henson is married with four children and enjoys spending time with family and his church.

Assistant Principal - Cathy Ridley (Le-Rod)
Mrs. Ridley is in her second year as assistant principal at Southwest. Before making the move to administration, she worked for 10 years in Fort Worth ISD as a special education teacher at Dunbar, Eastern Hills, and Southwest. She also coached track, basketball, volleyball, and softball. Her education credits consist of a BS in Special Education from the University of Central Okalahoma (1997) and an ME in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University (2007). She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at Tarleton State University. Mrs. Ridley is married to Stanley Ridley. She and her husband have one dog, China, and no children. |
