James Alexander

James Alexander started at Southwest as a student in 1974, graduating in 1979.  He graduated from North Texas State University in 1983.  Ms. Alexander started teaching in 1984 at Meadowbrook Middle School.  He came to Southwest in 1998.  Mr. Alexander currently teaches Computer Applications.  He has previously taught Woodshop, Drafting, Photography, Construction, Technology Systems, and Animation.  GO Southwest and be true to your school!!!

Danielle Arnold

Danielle Arnold graduated Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University, with a BBA in Family and Consumer Science in 2003.  She soon began her career as a Family Consumer Science teacher at Southwest High School.  She received a Master’s in Education Administration in 2007 from Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Arnold currently teaches Nutrition Food Science, Personal and Family Development, and Apparel.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.

William Clark

William Clark graduated from University of Nebraska with a Bachelors Degree and Taft University with a Masters Degree.   Mr.  Clark started his teaching career at Southwest in 2004.  He currently teaches Freshman Transition and Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS). 

Mary Colbert

Mary Colbert started her teaching career in 1983.  She has been at Southwest since 1986.  Ms. Colbert received her Master of Education degree from East Central University in Oklahoma.  She is the CTE Coordinator for the Career and Technology Education Department.  Ms. Colbert teaches Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS), Honors BCIS, Honors Business Management, and Honors Business Ownership.

Katricia Conner

Katricia Conner graduated Cum Laude with a BBA in Business Management from Northwood University.  She started her teaching career at Eastern Hills High School.  After completing one year at EHHS she came to Southwest.  Ms. Conner has been teaching Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS) and Freshman Transition at Southwest since 2008.  She also teaches BCIS to the students in the new Academy of Petroleum Engineering & Technology.

Darcy Deupree

Darcy Deupree came to Southwest in 2008.  She teaches media technology in the Special Interest Program.  Prior to teaching at Southwest, Ms. Deupree was a reporter at KRBC-TV (NBC affiliate in Abilene, TX).  She teaches Introduction to Media Technology, Media Technology I with an emphasis on television news and is the lead television instructor with the Advanced Media Program or AMP.  She is a 2005 graduate of Texas Christian University and a Fort Worth native. 

Tim Hood 

Timothy Hood, a 1980 graduate of Texas A&M University, is the Lead Instructor of the SIP Broadcast Journalism/Media Technology program at Southwest.  While at Texas A&M he earned a Bachelor of Science in Math and Science.  Mr. Hood started teaching math at Southwest in 1983.  In 1989, he started Broadcast Journalism/Media Technology which is the largest Special Interest Program in FWISD. 

Lynette Leininger

Lynette Leininger started teaching at SHS in 2003 after teaching at Burleson for 20 years.  Ms. Leininger graduated from Texas Christian University in 1974.  She teaches Marketing, Co-op and Elementary Internship.

Michele Riley  class webpage

Michele Riley graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, in 2001 with a degree in Family and Consumer Science Education and Early Childhood Education.  Ms. Riley began teaching Kindergarten in Killeen, Texas, in 2002.  In 2006, Ms. Riley and her family moved to Fort Worth.  She then began teaching Personal Family Development, Preparation in Parenting, Child Development and Interior Design at Southwest High School.  When not teaching, Ms. Riley is the sponsor of the Concerned Senior Girls.  She goes home to her husband and two boys at the end of the day.

Kelly Shoulders

Kelly Shoulders started teaching at Southwest in 2008.  Before coming to SHS he taught at Godley and Mineral Wells.  Mr. Shoulders teaches Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS) and BIMM.

Michael Sweeney

Michael Sweeney, a graduate of University of Illinois, started teaching Technology Education in 1996.  Before coming to Southwest in 2003, Mr. Sweeney taught at Mclean Middle School.  He currently teaches Computer Applications. 

Janet Thoms

Janet Thoms earned her degree at Texas Christian University.  Before coming to Southwest Ms. Thoms taught at Kennedale High School and Dunbar High School.  Ms. Thoms currently teaches Marketing Education and Cooperative Education.  She is also the Department Chair for Career and Technology here at SHS.
