Victor Boyd, a graduate of Wiley College, has been teaching Health and Physical Education at Southwest since 1993. Before coming to SHS, he taught at Glencrest 6th beginning in 1981. Coach Boyd is the head coach for the girls track team and is an assistant football coach.

Sonya Manning came to Southwest to teach Foundations of Fitness and coach Volleyball in 2001. She is a graduate of North Texas State University (now UNT). Coach Manning began her teaching career at Benbrook Elementary School in 1985. “I have a great personality, good sense of humor, and I am truly a caring person. I am not as mean as the students say! : )”
Will Parker began working at Southwest High School in 2005 as the Athletic Trainer. 3 years later he became a Physical Education teacher and has coached basketball since 2008. Before coming to Southwest he was the Athletic Trainer at Dunbar High School from 2003-2005. Mr. Parker graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2003 with a degree in Sports Medicine. He currently teaches Physical Education and helps run the PLATO lab. “I am very excited to be working my alma mater. I graduated from Southwest High School in 1999. I am married to Mrs. Leah Parker who teaches English here at Southwest High School.”
Reuben Vaughn began teaching Health Education at Southwest in the Fall of 2008. Mr. Vaughn received his Bachelors degree at Texas Christian University and his Masters degree at Texas A&M-Commerce.
