In 1961 Western Hills Elementary opened in a portable building. The school building was completed in 1966, and opened by Mr. Everett Hackworth who was principal for 24 years. We have had only 3 additional principals since the building opened including Ms. Evelene Jones, Ms. Suzanne Etier and Tracy Allen (current principal.) WHES split into two schools in 2000. Currently we have 3rd - 5th grade students. The school has been through several renovations, the most recent in fall 2003, and currently we have 500 students
